VISUALISE:RELOADED
Science Made Simple
The Return of the Technoclowns.
Science made simple are back at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
with more mischievous physical theatre mixed with live science.
visualise is a live performance with a difference.
An
experiment that began by removing all verbal explanation from science
made simple!s award-winning interactive science demonstration shows.
The group made their Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2007. They were shortlisted
for a Total theatre award, achieved sell-out status and went on to tour
11 countries. Over 165,000 people saw visualise - the beauty of science
at the theatre, on TV or attended training events and it generated extensive
media coverage across Europe.
"Excellent fun. Thought-provoking. Very cleverly staged. The
hour just flew by! Theatre-goer, Edinburgh 2007
Now they are set to bring more science mischief to the world's largest
arts festival with visualise:reloaded - a mix of physical theatre, live
science demonstrations, projected images and music. The technoclowns
use everyday objects in unexpected ways. Using their mastery of the
laws
of physics to create a world of wordless mystery. Less explanation;
more exploration. The lack of language means the show is suitable for
all ages and levels. The audience are invited to make their own observations
and discoveries, igniting their curiosity and ultimately motivating
them to find out for themselves how the world works.
Following the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the company is set to tour
more widely thanks to a science engagement grant from the Scottish Government.
'...it takes a lot to impress your average
nine-year-old. But this show does the trick.' (ThreeWeeks)
