'Still Trucking' after 50 years in professional theatre...Cardiff based
SAM BOARDMAN-JACOBS is celebrating his 50 anniversary in thebusiness
by retraining as a Choreographer, in spite of suffering 15 heart attacks,
major surgery and serious physical Disability. . Sam gained a place
at Europe's most prestigious Dance Training Academy-THE LABAN INSTITUTE,
LONDON, (where he received his Masters Degree in Choreography) Soft
Murders is his debut in this new role. He does not plan on retiring
just yet awhile.
Piece 1: 2 P's no Pod
which is based
on the paintings and Sex lives portrayed therein of
Painters Gilbert & George.
Gilbert and George - exploiters of 'Working Class' young men pictured
naked for the rich Gay male gaze? Or revitalizing Art?
Piece 2: Multiples
A short divertisment based on the work of
Andy Warhol
Factory Impresario - cynical manipulator of drug dependent and
sexualised bodies for money? Or an artist who made a new way of seeing?

Piece 3: Soft Murder
Painter Francis Bacon - sado-masochistically yearning for the violent
death of himself or his gangster lover? Or genuinely torn between Art
and Love? Based on the paintings of Francis Bacon and his relationship
with lover George Dyer who committed suicide on the eve of Bacon's
first international exhibition.
