If there was an award for the best run fringe venue then this would be it
– The Stage
The 2013 season saw twelve exciting pieces of work brought together, several of which were premiering at the Festival. There is always something for everyone and last year was no exception. In addition to hosting a vast range of shows and companies, for the previous nine years the venue had also been home to Los Angeles-based CalArts Festival Theater. With a range of diverse and award winning work each year, CalArts returned with three more shows for 2013.
2013 also saw the return of the Richard Burton Company, performances by emerging artists from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the UK’s best for drama training (The Guardian University League Tables, 2014).
The smaller venues also offer fantastic programmes,
and often stage some real gems of the Festival – these include Venue 13
