Since 1996, Venue 13 has been bringing the best of emerging talent from Wales and the world to the Edinburgh Fringe. With a real focus on theatre, but also contemporary dance and physical performance, Venue 13 prides itself on offering the complete venue experience with every show receiving full production support and resources, making it more than just simply “fringe” theatre. As well as theatre from Wales, the venue is also home to Los Angeles-based CalArts Festival Theater.

In 2012, the venue hosted 13 different productions from several acclaimed and award winning companies. Work from Swansea, Newport and Cardiff, and a range of exciting and diverse work from Portugal, France and the US.

From our headquarters in Cardiff, the venue is an initiative run by the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and acts as professional training for our stage managers, who use the intense experience of putting on over 150 performances in three weeks as part of their professional portfolio.
